What Every Homeowner In [geoip-city] Should Know
(But Most Don’t)

[geoip-city], [geoip-region]: There is something water heater companies don’t want homeowners to know. This is because if enough homeowners find out, the water heater companies would lose millions of dollars.

Wade recently bought a home in [geoip-city]. loves his neighborhood. The only problem he has is with the previous homeowner. The previous homeowner clearly bought cheap home improvement materials, did the home improvement work himself, yet had no home improvement skills. A perfect recipe for disaster. Wade told us this about his previous homeowner:

The Mantra “Fake ‘Til You Make It”
Does Not Apply to Doing Electrical or Plumbing Work On Your Home

Thanks to the previous homeowner, Wades had to fix several problems, but here is the problem that terrified him the most. One day Wade strolled into his utility room, put some clothes in the washer, looked up at his water heater, and saw this:

Wade panicked. “I almost pooped my pants, man! It looked like my water heater was going nuclear!” said Wade. Water heaters ARE NOT supposed to glow like that. Wade immediately evacuated his family. After that, Wade went to warn his neighbor. Wade’s neighbor was a general contractor and was curious to see what the fuss was about.

Wade’s neighbor went into Wade’s house to take a look at the water heater. With a smirk on his face, Wade’s neighbor walked out of the house and told Wade to follow him. They went back into the house to look at the water heater. At the top of the water heater, where the tube meets the roof, there was sheetrock damage on the ceiling. They then walked outside and noticed the vent cap had blown off the roof vent (another example of the previous homeowner’s handy work). With the sun at the exact right angle, it caused the PVC vent to glow as seen in the pic. Wade and his neighbor shared a laugh but Wade’s neighbor said he wanted to show Wade one more thing. They went back into the house to look at the water heater and Wade’s neighbor showed Wade this.

It Was Wade’s Anode Rod and It Was Putrid!

Anode rods are important to your water heater. They attract all the harmful elements in your water so that the elements corrode your anode rod and not your water heater. More important, it helps keep harmful elements out of your water system. Changing your anode rod is just as important as changing the oil in your car. If you don’t get your oil changed, your engine will die much sooner. If you don’t get your anode rod changed, your water heater will die much sooner.

Wade’s neighbor made these 3 points:

  • Water Heater Companies Make Tons of Money Off Replacing Water Heaters.
  • Water Heater Companies Make No Money Replacing Anode Rods So They Don’t Tell Enough People About Water Heater Maintenance.
  • Your Anode Rod Must Be Changed Every 4 Years.

As a general contractor, Wade’s neighbor gave Wade a list of the 3 best plumbing companies he’s worked with. He then told Wade to do his research on the 3, pick one to call, and get the anode rod changed ASAP. Wade did not have time to research the plumbing companies because his job gets busy around this time of year. However, Wade took some time, did the research, and picked XXXXX from XXXXX. Based on Wade’s research this company had the best reviews and was the most affordable. He called XXXXX, they came out the next day and replaced the anode rode at an affordable price. Now, Wade’s water heater will last longer and Wade’s water will be cleaner.

After hearing this story I decided to get my water heater serviced. Based on Wade’s research and recommendation, I called XXXX. He was right about them. They were affordable, nice, and professional. If you:

  • Live in [geoip-city]
  • Own a home
  • Have a water heater that is over 4 years old & it’s never been serviced

Then I highly recommend you give them a call. We’ve noticed not enough homeowners in [geoip-city] maintain their water. Getting your water heater serviced is not only important to your wallet, but it’s also important to your health.
